Little Venice

f5791ce9.jpgJust arrived in London!

And I am using English again as I forgot to bring the plug adaptor for my PC... stupid. But why is the English electric plug so big?

I am staying with my ex-classmates' (they both were my classmates) house near Little Venice. Very Nice...Venice? And it is close to the school too, which is good as I plan to attend the reunion and the alumni board meetings this weekend and the next week.

This couple tries to sell their townhouse for £1.7. That's over 3 oku yen. All of my classmates seem to live in million dollar houses. They say the houses facing the canal fetch a whopping £5 and over!!

Who can afford this kind of houses? Hedgefund managers, according to my another classmate who is a big name mutual fund manager.

I heard an interesting story about Little Venice last night from a property consultant. The name of the area used to be different. No wonder I never heard of this name before. It is not St. John's Wood, which is an established high-class residential area, not the other neighboring area which is also residential. The canal was long ignored after its main purpose of water transportation ceased. The property developer renamed the area "Little Venice" and suddenly the price jumped up. Clever marketing!
